A nice Saturday morning in August. The sun shines in the sky, there is no wind, no gadflys, no mosquitoes. Work is progressing well. A small hand-cutter blade spins the chips, smoothing the boards for a new well cover. From somewhere above, there are the roars of the cranes. I take a look at the sky but the eye can’t find the silhouette of any bird. I will continue to plan until the new cries from the heights give my curiosity away. I head back and gaze intently at the whole sky. This time my gaze caught a half-dozen cranes flying at a very high above the head. I wondered what made those cranes fly to an eagle-appropriate altitude? I took a look into the sky once more and found myself in quite another thought – the sky was as blue as childhood. I remembered how my grandfather taught me how to handle a planer, how I helped my grandfather pull a bellows in a smithy. It is said that in the old days the lawn was greener and the sky bluer. I have thought about it through the ages and have said that somehow it is, though without understanding why? But today, I saw again the childhood blue sky and realized that I felt as free, well and carefree as a child. It all starts about ourselves, from within ourselves.
